Wisteria in Ishii, the second time! 4-28-13

Naoko, Haruto and I went to see the fuji in Ishii this morning.  We stopped first at one of the temples I'd been to earlier in the week and then we went to the one I hadn't been (not enough time before work).  That one was an odd combination of Buddists temple, Shinto shrine and some Christian something... there was a little pond and a nice walking area.  Some very old buildings and some with very new parts (mostly floors).  The weather was beautiful and it was quite a fun walk.  Afterwards we stopped at a shopping center to see the 'Chicken Ramen bus' that was visiting for a special event.  (Sort of like the Oscar Meyer Hotdog car except the kids can inside and see a few things.) There were also special stalls set up down the middle of the mall.

Nice woodwork

I did something to the color...

A dango (dumpling) bug = a rolypoly.

Special event stalls selling dry fish, pickles, cakes...

Pocari Sweat - maybe the first sports drink.  It was around when I was here in the 70's!  Turns out it was invented and it's still made in Tokushima.  It's awful (like all sports drinks).

It's azeala time - the prettiest time here since the
streets that have plants have azealas (tsutsuji).
