The other day I finally went and had the special lunch at Yukinko bakery down the street. I've bought bread there - I think it's the best bakery in Tokushima - it has 'real' European breads (not just soft and or sweet Japanese bread). I had lunch there once before and had a declicious sandwich. The special lunch comes with a piece of quiche, little salad, little soup and something else. This had a piece of beef or pork cooked with beans. It also comes with a drink and a little dessert - this day's was a delicious tiny little creme brulee. AND it comes with a plate of 5 1/2 pieces of various breads/rolls and a little bag for what you can't eat (of the bread). The bread was delicious, the rest was just ok.
Today I went to Ishii, a neighboring town, with Hiroko and 3 of her friends to see the wisteria. It was a BEAUTIFUL day. At least 70 with a bright blue sky. The wisteria were mostly at temples so that was nice. Afterwards we went to that great coffee/bread restaurant that I'd been to before with Hiroko and her friend. Great sandwiches. And I finally tried iced cocoa. Not bad at all!
At the entrance people were selling flowers, crafts, senbei, souveniers, etc.
