Yoshinogawa-shi Sakura, 3-27-2013

We made arrangements with my cooking teacher (Hiroko Sueda)'s friends to take a ride with them and see the sakura in their town.  Unfortunately it was a rainy day but it was still beautiful.  I wouldn't mind going back next week if Naoko has time (and I can find the way) because everything should be in full bloom then.  It's a great park and even has a playground - and there's a really good restaurant nearby - just sandwiches and salads (somewhat unusual for Japan) on deliciuos bread!

She's making us tea.

Shidare (weeping) cherries - my favorite.

This should be blooming next week.
The pink ones seem to be later blooming.

A friendly little boy who was having
a picnic with his family.

Looked like snow falling, you can't
really see the branches...  beautiful

Miso katsu sandwich (fried pork with a miso sauce
on a delicious bun).

Toasted sandwichi - one piece is missing - deliciuos.

A chicken teriyaki sandwich.

Mixed sandwich.

The restaurant, evidently a chain that started
in Nagoya.  It's the only one on Shikoku though.
I'd definately like to go back but can't on my own.
