We went to a special sakura place in a neighboring town - Ishii. It's the sight of an Agricultural College (that moved last year). It's famous for the sakura tunnel.
There was also a camelia grove
which must have peaked about
On the way out we were led past this beautiful shrine.
I LOVE weeping cherries (shidare zakura).
It's raining sakura!
The road (very narrow and very windy) and flanked by sakura!
Then we went to Seibu Koen in Tokushima for a picnic under the trees. Seibu Koen is up on the mountain. I've been eyeing it for the last week but haven't walked up - it's very steep and a long walk - but much older people than me do it frequently.
We drove.
It's not all about the sakura - mostly, but not all....
There is no ladder. It's probably good for 4 year olds and up. |
Sort of an unusual 'sakura woods'. |
Haruto made a friend. |
This trellis supports a huge wisteria, the sakura are in the background not on top of the trellis. |
Alisa chan and Haruto. |
Lunch time! |
